  • Abstract
A kind of ferroelectric polymers, vinylidene fluoride/trifluoroethylene (VDF/TrFE) copolymer is a very competent material for a memory device in which the information is stored as the polarization arisen from dipolar orientation. However the disintegration of device quality, the decrease of residual polarization and/or the shift of the coercive field, with storage repetition is inevitable. Here we present a three nuclear states model for the degradation mechanism with storage repetitions. The agreement of the assumption is proved with the experimental results, the disintegration characteristics with various strength of applied field for VDF/TrFE (VDF 73%) copolymer
