  • Abstract
In this paper, we propose a new narrowband bearing tracking algorithm, named Predictive Bearing algorithm. Firstly the basic theory of the narrowband signal incorporating the spatial smoothing method to overcome the multipath interference is presented, Kalman Filter is then used to track the target´s bearing wherein the modified least square (LS) method is used to restrain abnormally larger angular variations when the targets are at a crossing point. Next, we combine the coherent signal subspace (CSS) method with the Predictive Bearing method discussed above to track the bearings of underwater wideband signals.
