Abstract
This paper describes the implementation of a real-time monitoring and rating system on an existing self-contained oil-filled submarine cable circuit. The rating system´s instrumentation and the thermal and hydraulic models used to monitor the cable system´s status and provide real-time ratings are discussed. The overall monitoring and rating system architecture and its integration into the utility´s LAN/WAN system for direct data access by all interested departments is also described
