Abstract :
The authors develop a hybrid MM/UTD technique for treating arbitrarily shaped conducting plate antenna near a plane reflector. Numerical results of input admittances and far-field patterns are presented for antennas backed by a rectangular reflector. As examples, the authors consider a rectangular conducting plate monopole excited by a coaxial line in a distance d from the edge of a half infinite ground plane. As a second example, a pear-shaped conducting plate monopole excited at the centre of a square plate (36*36 cm/sup 2/) from a coaxial line (b=17.5 mm, a=7.6 mm) is investigated. The radiation pattern of conducting plate dipole backed by a square reflector is also shown. A delta source is used in the calculation.<>
