Abstract
California´s independent system operator (ISO) grid metering presents some unique and challenging applications. This paper explores an application and discusses the use of the California ISO approved grid meter to solve the need for new and innovative revenue metering. An example of a revenue meter application is presented and a detailed explanation is given for the use of state-of-the-art metering to solve this actual ISO application. Deregulation has placed new emphasis on the identification and accountability of line and transformer losses. Details are given on the methods used to quantify these losses. In addition, techniques for monitoring generator output to improve efficiency and profitability in the deregulated marketplace using the installed ISO meter are discussed
