Abstract :
The P1015 working group of the IEEE Low-Voltage Protection Subcommittee is finishing an application guide for low voltage circuit breakers. The authors present Chapter 7 of the guide, titled ´Special Purpose Circuit Breakers´. It provides an overview of the descriptions, applications, ratings, code considerations, testing requirements, and settings of low voltage circuit breakers other than the conventional thermal-magnetic molded-case circuit breakers which are the industry standard for industrial and commercial applications. These circuit breakers provide a range of solutions for specific overcurrent protection applications.<>
