Abstract :
The author has proposed a spiral vector method that can express almost all the kinds of state variables that appear in electrical engineering and is the most natural form of solution of circuit equations and performance equations of electric machines. It can unify AC circuit theories of steady state and transient state. This method is applied to salient-pole machines. Performance equations derived by the method are shown to provide adequate computer simulation of the machine. The analytical power of the method is shown to be much better than that of the d, q axis method
