Abstract
This paper uses a present worth economics approach to quantify potential benefits from a substation integration system in the areas of first cost savings, forced outage avoidance, maintenance savings, deferral of capital investment, and distribution feeder efficiency improvement. The paper proposes how scope increases in RTU replacement equipment can be cost justified
