Abstract :
The three-phase pulse-width-modulation (PWM) AC-to-DC converter presented employs an inductive energy transfer mechanism (DC reactor) so that the step-up and step-down characteristics of the output voltage can be easily obtained. The source current can be sinusoidally wave-shaped with a unity power factor by means of the proposed PWM control strategy based on the equalizing area method. A simple and practical input filter design is proposed. Waveforms of voltages and currents, and input, output, and dynamic characteristics are evaluated by computer simulation
