Abstract :
The authors present a vector approximation (VA) method with DC link current control in order to produce a desired stator current vector (SCV) by a current source inverter (CSI) drive induction motor system, and an identification method which identifies parameters of induction motors. The desired SCV is computed based on vector control and is approximated by the realizable SCVs. This VA is based on the concept of time average for the composition of the six realizable current vectors with the magnitude of the current vector adjusted by the control of the DC link current. Any current vector is realizable by the VA method. For the identification, a method which utilizes torque measurement is presented. Experimental results of an operation by the VA method and identification are shown
