Abstract :
This paper is an introduction to the design and implementation of a communication mechanism for WEBGIS (CGMGIS) based on the distributed component model. Since the format and method of the data transmission on the network have great influence on the performance of WEBGIS, great emphasis is placed on how to improve the transmission of the data and to create a new communication mechanism for WEBGIS by utilizing the advantages of both the DCOM and WebCGM technology and introducing a new WEBGIS data transmission and communication mechanism. Meanwhile, a new approach of real-time dynamic index is introduced focusing on the display of the spatial typographic information at the client end, in order to solve the problem of repeated transmission of the spatial typographic information so that the flow of the network data transmission can be cut down
