Abstract :
Fractal modelling is one of the different approaches to texture analysis. The fractal dimension, may be used to characterize the roughness of a texture. The authors propose to use the wavelet transform, and distributions issued from the affine smoothed class, for the estimation of the fractal dimension of an image. The study is done in the framework of 2D fractional Brownian motion (FBM). The method is tested on simulated homogeneous and piecewise FBMs
