  • Abstract
In this paper, we concentrate on the quick and robust initialization of level set methods. The main task of initialization is calculating the level set distance of a point in the image plane and finding the nearest point on the front of the current point. This step is computational time-consuming and crucial for the application of level set methods. This paper addresses an improved approach to precise and quick construction of the signed distance function using new Voronoi source scanning method, which needs simple comparison and few multiplication operations with computational complication O(N).
