Abstract :
The authors present a formulation by using which it is possible to solve source and parameter identification problems encountered in electromagnetics. For example, the input voltage of a linear antenna can be reconstructed so that it yields a required far-field distribution. Another application is the determination of parameters (/spl epsi/,/spl mu/,/spl sigma/) of an object by means of field measurements taken outside the object.
