  • Abstract
Water-jet propulsion system is widely used to high speed marine vessels by virtue of high propulsive efficiency, good maneuverability, and less vibration. The flow through the waterjet inlet will be analysed in more detail. In order to validate the computational method the CFD results are compared with experimental data for a model scale water-jet inlet duct. During the validation process, the effects of the confinement of the flow due to the cavitation tunnel walls are also addressed. The CFD results can be used to visualise the flow behaviour in more detail.
