Abstract
Trip assignment for urban traffic system is not only the basis for urban transport planning but also one of the key indicators of urban transport development. On the basis of the component analysis of urban transport system, `mode-route´ map is put forward to describe the whole travel process and three-dimensional space-time operating diagram is also constructed to reflect the competitive nature on space-time of all traffic modes. Then the trip assignment model for urban traffic system based on network equilibrium, with making generalized travel costs including latent cost as road impedance function, is set up and solved using an improved F-W algorithm. At last, a numerical example is used to illustrate the scientificity and validity of the proposed model.
