  • Abstract
The widely used plug-pin steel tube system is constructed with modular construction technique. The basic modular unit is a two-story frame, which is stacked together to the desired height and length at the construction sites. In this paper, four plug-pin steel modular scaffold frames were tested. The experimental performance of modular scaffold frames were studied. The research especially focused on the effect of different layouts of elevation diagonal bars. The test results show that the ultimate bearing capacity of frame without elevation diagonal bars is much lower than that of frame with elevation diagonal bars.
