Abstract :
A consortium of companies was formed to address this dtjicult issue of real-time debug on multiple architectures. The Global Embedded Processor Debug Interface Standard consortium (GEPDIS) was organized in April of 1998 with the code name "Nexus," and has been working on a debug interface standard. The GEPDIS consortium currently consist of 24 companies consisting of silicon vendors, hardware and software development tools vendors from Europe, Japan and the USA. The GEPDIS consortium is currently working with the IEEE-ISTO to become on of the charter consortiums within the newly formed organization.
