Abstract :
Frequency selective surfaces (FSSs) have been widely used in satellite and ground antenna systems. The FSS has become a key component in microwave systems due to its intrinsic ability to pass signals in some frequency bands while simultaneously to reflect in other bands. The paper presents the results of a design and engineering model development of an FSS that reflects the S-band and transmits the C-band. The measured data correlate well with the predicted performance and validate the achieved performance with space-qualified materials and bonding process.
