Abstract :
At present, there are two types of digital collimator: target location laser detector and passive optics collimator based on range ring. The former lacks the confidentiality, and the latter has the larger system error. In order to track the target with laser early warning weapon, a new epistemic passive tracking digital collimator is designed to avoid fore-mentioned insufficient. This equipment is composed of laser and CCD. It can compute the length of object projection wingspan based on only an effective laser ranging. Then, according to the relation of variable corona radius and goal slant range in the window of digital collimator, the fire control computer calculates real-time target location. Finally, the paper compares target tracking results of three methods by simulation. The results show that: the new detector´s tracking accuracy is slightly lower than the laser detector´s one, but its accuracy is much better than the traditional pure passive collimator´s one.
