Abstract :
This paper presents a stretch reflex model which provides for asymmetric agonist/antagonist reflex connections. The model predicts the characteristic reflex responses to a variety of displacement patterns. Furthermore, simulations of the responses to pulse displacements superimposed on walking movements are in close agreement with experimental observations. This suggests that asymmetric reflex connections are responsible for the modulation of stretch reflex gain during walking
