Abstract :
This paper presents a simple technique for measuring the shielding quality of coaxial leads by measuring the transfer impedance, Z/sub t/, at high frequencies. The measurement system proposed allows measurement of Z/sub t/ using standard laboratory instrumentation such as a scalar network analyser or the combination of a signal generator and a spectrum analyser. There is no requirement for the controlled environment normally associated with radiated measurements and repeatable results are easily achieved.
