Abstract :
We report investigation results of photocatalytic properties of TiO2 nanotube arrays sensitized with Bi2MoO6 metal oxides and PbS, CdS quantum dots (QDs) to address the issues of improving the efficiency of water-splitting under visible-light irradiation for hydrogen energy. XRD and TEM investigations showed well crystallized Bi2MoO6 nanoparticles on the TiO2 nanotube wall. Measurements of photo conversion efficiency and monochromatic absorption in the range of visible light indicate superior properties of photolysis water-splitting for the composite samples. Further, detailed compositional study of the sensitizer material is going to be conducted in order to optimize the visible-light efficiency of the system.
