Abstract
A description is presented of an electromagnetically coupled (EMC) dipole linear array with strong mutual coupling between elements has been synthesized using the Elliott-Stern method at X band and f/sub 0/=8.3 GHz. For the first time, all the different parameters of the method have been calculated as rigorously as possible using the integral equation technique solved by the moment method. The self-impedance of a radiating element, the backscatterer function, and the mutual impedance Znm have been determined theoretically for use in an array rematching process.<>
