  • Abstract
    A discussion is presented of research which involves a novel aperture-coupled, wideband cavity-backed slot (CBS) antenna. The purpose is to seek an approach which could not only give a simple and economical design but also a better operating bandwidth. It was found that the aperture-coupled half-open cavity slot antenna can solve this problem. A description is given of the development and design of this CBS, and the experimental results for antenna patterns and impedance are presented.<>
