Abstract
Growth of the Rayleigh-Taylor instabilities in pulsed magnetic field generators is examined. The presented analysis provides insight into the efficiency of multicascade systems for the suppression of the RT-instabilities. Efficiency of the double cascade systems for explosive magnetic field generators is analyzed and the optimal position for the second liner is found. It is shown, that in the presence of the shock wave the growth of the short-wavelength perturbations is suppressed compared with the case of a magnetic flux compression by a conducting liner.
