Abstract :
In order to obtain high quality pictures, the thermal design is necessary for the space telescope. The designed temperature scope should meet to the permissible temperature tolerance of the telescope. A method for calculating the permissible temperature tolerance of the telescope is studied. The calculating temperature tolerance will be targeted for space thermal environment adaptive structure design and thermal design. A method for describing the temperature fields of the telescope is introduced. The descriptive temperature fields are able to include every temperature states that the telescope endured on orbit. When the MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) just meet to the optical indicator, the ultimate temperature tolerance of the space telescope is obtained, that is, the aim temperature scope for the thermal design is obtained.
