Abstract :
A double-probe-through transmission ultrasonic technique is used to determine ultrasonic velocity in different types of brain tumors. The average value of propagation velocity is found to be 1553±8.9, 1557±10.3 and 1538±6.1 m/s in meningioma, hemangioma and glioma, respectively. Further, characteristic impedance, reflectance, transmittance and modulus of elasticity are determined for all specimens. A technique for the diagnosis and differentiation of benign and malignant tumors can be developed by standardization of the data
