Abstract :
Massive laboratory test and analysis have shown that the water sensitivity of asphalt constituted by unclean aggregates is larger than that of clean aggregates; For an asphalt mixture with neutral rock mineral aggregate and size distribution of AC-13 and the sediment percentage of coarse and fine aggregate presumed to be the same, the impact of the former on the water stability is lower than the latter. To achieve the same physical and mechanical properties, clean aggregates can save asphalt content. According to this study, we can see that the use of clean aggregates for the asphalt mixture is very important, especially the use of clean fine aggregate.
