Abstract :
A general transmission line description is constructed for eigenmodes propagating in a hybrid bi-isotropic waveguide. The transmission line model is based on a bi-orthogonality property between the eigenmodes in the real waveguide and the eigenmodes in an adjoint waveguide. The bi-orthogonality property is a generalisation of the Lorentz orthogonality property for isotropic materials. This leads to so called RT (reciprocity-current) or RV (reciprocity voltage) models.
