Abstract :
In modeling fibrous filter media, it is important to consider the phenomena of slip on the fiber surface because of the Knudsen number limit. In this paper the available analytical expressions for slip boundary were summarized and applied on a novel fibrous filter media model. Experimental data of the pressure drop on the filter media was used to validate the numerical simulation using OpenFOAM when partial slip boundary was applied. It was found the optimal valueFractions for F8 media was 0.16.
