Abstract :
The paper presents a new universal and effective approach to the analysis of axisymmetrical dielectric rod antennas of complicated longitudinal cross-section. The vector two-dimensional (2-DV) finite-difference time-domain (FD-TD) model is used. The linear superabsorbing operator is applied to model open space surrounding the antenna and radiation pattern is calculated using a specially adapted form of near-to-far transformation of electromagnetic field. Results of simulation are compared with measurements and very good agreement is obtained.
