Abstract :
A generalized method to transform voltage-mode circuits into their current-mode counterparts utilizing the Opamp´s equivalent current conveyor block diagram is proposed. The new approach creates current conveyor based circuits with voltage signals as well as current signals. It is easy to implement without any special knowledge on current-mode theory. Additionally, a new perspective to distinguish current-mode from voltage mode architectures is introduced. Nevertheless, the alleged advantage of the current-mode approach is examined by this alternative point of view. Illustrative examples are demonstrated by a Sallen-Key and a Tow-Thomas biquad. PSpice simulation results are also included and evaluated.
