  • Abstract
We report the first experimental realization of DFB laser array with λ/4 equivalent phase shift (EPS) using the reconstruction-equivalent-chirp (REC) technique for 1.3μm CWDM systems. The threshold currents are between 12mA and 20mA and the slope efficiencies at room temperature are from 0.35W/A to 0.45W/A. The side mode suppression rations (SMSR) are larger than 40dB under the bias currents of 70mA. Only μm-level pattern and holography uniform grating are used. The experimental results show that the REC technique is valid even if the whole bandwidth is wide up to 60nm in the 1.3μm window.
