Abstract
An FDTD code is modified to accurately treat boundaries between dielectrics and to allow the calculation of reflection coefficients from a single program run. The modified code is used to simulate an open-ended coaxial line terminating in water and methanol and calculate it´s reflection coefficient The suitability of FDTD as a technique to model this structure is discussed. The code is validated by comparing the calculated reflection coefficients with previously obtained moment method and experimental results. The effects of variations in the end of line geometry on the reflection coefficient are investigated.
