Abstract :
FDK reconstruction algorithm, owing to its relative easy implementation and highly computational efficiency, remains the most widely accepted method for 3D C-arm Cone-Beam reconstruction. Because of the inherence characteristic of FDK reconstruction algorithm, the reconstruction imaging has some shortcomings. The paper deals with the problems affecting the quality of 3D images reconstructed from projections acquired using single circular arc trajectory scanning C-arm Cone-Beam reconstruction scheme. Firstly, the classical FDK approximate reconstruction algorithm for circular isocentric orbit in cone beam tomography was reviewed. Next, the paper analyzed the relationship between planar angle and inclined plane angle. Then, it parsed the relationship between planar fan-angle and inclined plane fan-angle. Some experimentations were finally given to demonstrate the validation and feasibility of the proposed modified weighting and fan-angle using on FDK reconstruction algorithm for C-arm CT system. The experimentations indicated that the proposed modified FDK reconstruction algorithm can reduce artifacts and greatly improve image quality.
