  • Abstract
This paper describes a few examples of small antennas for medical applications particularly for interstitial and intracavitary microwave hyperthermia. We have demonstrated heating patterns around the coaxial-dipole antenna for the treatment of brain tumor. Then we have shown the investigation of heating performances of the coaxial-slot antenna for treatment of bile duct carcinoma. As a further study, we will improve the antennas for practical treatment. Small antenna technology will play an important role for R&D of such antennas for medical applications.
