Abstract :
RADARSAT-2 provides new opportunities for spaceborne monitoring of vessel traffic and fishing activities. A series of RADARSAT-2 data has been collected and analysed over Norwegian waters. ScanSAR and Standard Quad-pol images have been used in the analyses. The Norne field is used as a test site, because it is possible to image the same vessel under different conditions. The different polarisations and polarisation combinations are analysed.
