Abstract
Summarises the experience of EUROCONTROL (The European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation) in measuring people engaged in air traffic control simulations. By analogy with the engineering usage, the authors define stress as the external forces on the controller, mainly the workload imposed, and strain as the response of the controller to this stress
