  • Abstract
21st century structural changes in industries and economics, and global effects, give rise to a need for creative and responsible young engineers and scientists. They need more than a solid basis in natural sciences and engineering. They have to understand and respect the world in which we are living: the environmental and safety problems, but also the social implications. The method of problem-based learning with ergonomic approach stimulates and encourages the students to develop an active problem-solving way of thinking, to create new ideas and new solutions for the new challenges of the 21st century in working life. Students (Bachelor level) of Business Administration from the Faculty of Economics and Public Administration from the Faculty of Humanities of Tallinn Technical University were asked, at the end of the course of risk and safety sciences, to analyse and find new ergonomic solutions for improving the working environment in Estonia based on a study of Emor Ltd
