Abstract :
The authors present a completely digital method for fast and accurate measurement of the magnetic characteristic (magnetization curve, hysteresis loop and total losses) of magnetic materials under cyclic magnetization. The mathematical basis of the method is discussed and applied to the realization of a virtual instrument for these measurements. The results of experiments on ferrosilicon plates and on amorphous materials are reported and their accuracy and sensitivity are discussed. The validity of the proposed method is demonstrated
