Abstract :
ARIZ is algorithm of invention problem solving. It integrated many tools of TRIZ and presented the entire flow process from problems analysis to evaluation of scheme solution. As ARIZ needs more complicate and higher knowledge, the application of ARIZ is not as widespread as other methods of TRIZ tools. The application of ARIZ critical steps in product design improvement is discussed by a case study. Firstly, Theory of Constraints (TOC) is analyzed in order to identify the root causes of the problem, which can solve the inadequate of problem analysis and contradiction definition in the process of ARIZ. Then the Ideal Final Result (IFR) and physical contradictions are proposed. After which, Smart Little People (SLP) Tool is used to overcome inertial thinking. At last, ultimate solution for the problem is presented. Combined with other creative thinking tools, ARIZ will become an effective tool to solve innovation problem.
