  • Abstract
    As a city among the first batch of pilot reform areas of “Two-oriented society”, Wuhan´s practice in building an eco-city has assumed even greater significance. However, few eco-city standards can be found in terms of urban planning which plays an essential part in guiding and controlling the development of a city. Beginning from studies of eco-city theories, practices and indicator systems from both China and abroad, the study analyzes the current situation in Wuhan city and put forward a feasible framework of eco-city planning indicators for Wuhan city by integrating the concept of eco-city development into the current planning system. The objective of the research is to realize the control and regulation over the various stages and hierarchies of urban planning in a bid to guide the urban planning and eco-city development in Wuhan city.
