Abstract
This paper is about the spatiotemporal evolution of urban linear space in Nanyang city. Through the analysis of ancient, modern and future road network in Nanyang, the evolution rules of Nanyang´s urban linear space are summarized, which are continuation of grid texture, extension and enlarging scale of road network, appearance of new axis and opposite scenery, decreasing closeness of linear space, and the pattern of dispersion with concentration. At last, some suggestions about the construction of urban linear space are put forward.
