Abstract
Localization with mobile beacons is one of the most efficient ways to deploy sensor nodes and locate them. However, most of the current mobile beacon-assisted localization algorithms only discuss the application in rectangular sensor region. In order to achieve the localization in arbitrary sensor region, a novel mobile beacon-assisted localization algorithm based on virtual force and ant colony algorithm for wireless sensor networks is presented. Experimental results show that the proposed localization can achieve a proper balance between localization accuracy and energy consumption.
