Abstract :
XYZTec color theory defines color space boundary relationships and offers a protocol for observing and rendering colored objects based on the boundary ranges defined by color space relationships. XYZTec applies internationally sanctioned spectrophotometric techniques to graphic arts image processing and provides apparatus and methods to create a closed loop between the accepted XYZ model of color and any user-selected physical color model. XYZTec observes, manipulates and stores image objects in XYZ color space, but renders the objects in a physical color space defined by the user and transformed by the technology. XYZTec color theory resolves color gamut conflicts between XYZ color space and physical color spaces. The theory is based on a mathematical transformation that arbitrates the conflict and predicts the results of color rendering processes by transforming matrices of calculated and observed spectrophotometric variables
