Abstract
The paper reports of a novel approach of teaching VLSI to computer science students through the use of Virtual laboratory. It formalizes the notion of hierarchical design of Integrated Circuits and abstracts the notion of design of integrated circuits based on the physical approaches. Using the proposed technique, the notion of the lab has been successfully inculcated in about 50 students learning computer science.
