Abstract
Describes the application of AT&T Istel´s simulation-based finite-capacity scheduling system, PROVISA. The strategies that differentiate a finite-capacity scheduling system from a general-purpose simulation system are described. A brief description of PROVISA and how it fits into the manufacturing environment is presented. In addition, the steps required for building, implementing and verifying a PROVISA system are given.
