Abstract
Dynamic characteristic of a cracked rotor has been theoretically studied by many researchers. In this paper, the virtual prototype model of the rigidity-supported rotor system with a transverse crack is built by dynamic simulation software ADAMS. Furthermore, the vibration characteristics are studied by time and frequency domain analysis based on virtual prototyping simulation through setting different factors including crack depth, angle and speed up. The simulation results are consistent with numerical methods and theoretical analysis. The primary contribution of this paper is provided a new research method for rotating machinery fault diagnosis study.
