Abstract :
The performance of machine and the surface quality of the workpieces were seriously affected by cutting chatter. With the rapid development towards high automation and precision of the modern manufacturing industry, the study on the mechanism and control of the chatter has been the hotspot among the international production engineering field. The survey on above two aspects was introduced; meanwhile new semi-active control and intelligent control of cutting chatter were discussed in detail. Finally the developing trend of this field was presented.
